Pattern shape functionality supports placement of dimension references to the pattern skeleton, for more control in creating reference and constrained dimensions for parameter-driven models.
To add dimension references to a pattern skeleton:
-
Click twice slowly on a shape in the pattern to select the pattern skeleton, as indicated by green highlighting.
-
Click on the SmartDimension toolbar button corresponding to the type of dimension to be placed.
-
Click on any location on the pattern skeleton to initiate the dimension placement.
-
The start point of the dimension automatically snaps to the origin point of the pattern skeleton.
-
Move the cursor over any existing geometry on which to place the end point until the entity displays a green highlight.
-
Click to place the end point of the dimension.
-
At this point, the new dimension would serve as a reference rather than constrained dimension.
-
To create a constrained dimension, right-click on the dimension value display and click Lock.
